Shaylee is the oldest grandaughter and loves to talk and talk.....i love that about her, she will always be able to communicate with others and herself if she keeps that up. Shaylee also has a smile that makes you melt when she shares it with you
It is fun to watch them grow up. Life is so good!!!

Yogafit Level 5 Palm Springs July 19-21, 2008

This is Palm Springs California July 19-21, 2008 I flew here to take my level 5 200hr. RYT (registered yoga training). It was a very beautiful city.

Beth Shaw is the one in the white shirt, she started Yogafit in 1993. WOW has it evolved. I have my arm around Tracy she is a master trainer that helps Beth, and an amazing woman. I met some really great people...
This is Beth and Heather...
Connie really had a gift of being able to share her knowledge and her passion for yoga with everyone.

Sandi is on the left she has been my good friend for years...she is a true friend one that I can depend and rely on. She is very wise and tells it like it is. Denise is an amazing woman she teaches for me at 24 hour. Her ability to connet with people and make them feel better is awe inspiring. I can learn alot from these two women.

I only have to more smaller certs to do and I have competed my 200 hrs. that will be a happy day. Yoga has helped me to become more aware of my surroundings - it has also increased my faith in God and helped me to focus more on what I have and am grateful for.
I am learning to love myself my true self and see all of my imperfections and accept them which is a challenge at times as we all speak a bit negatively towards ourselves...Life is a journey one that I am truly enjoying!!!

Signing the Temple Song

When Melinda and Travis came over to pickup the kids today, we were able to get Parker and Hannah to sign a song that they had learned and performed at their church a few weeks ago....it is a BEAUTIFUL song and so cute to see them signing the words.

Salt Lake City Music (Jazz) Festival

Doug and I took 2 of our grandkids downtown to watch the Jazz Festival.

We rode the new train downtown then took the trax to the Galvin Center and walked to Washington Square.

The kids had so many questions about all the sounds of downtown

We sat in the Park met some very interesting people. Hannah had her princess dress on and wanted to dance while the music was playing. Somehow she talked Parker into letting loose....

Dead Dog

Ran across this video segment and thought it was hilarious.

This is a trick my husband and I taught our dog Zoe. Just push play and watch!

A Long but learning Day

Today was a busy work day....also I had an MRI taken yesterday to check out my back ( lower lumbar) and this lump on my back side.

My appointment with the specialist to go over it the results was today at 12:30pm. I went to the office at 12:18pm at 1:10pm I went to the desk to see how much longer it would be. They informed me the Dr. had left because they misplaced my chart/file. He thought I did not show...WOW I could of really lost it but instead thought to myself....Hmm I wonder what I am to learn from this experience? The Dr. is suppose to call me to go over the results.

I did teach my yoga class this evening, it is awesome to be able to help others experience different emoti0ns - feelings - and to use yoga and the postures (asanas) to learn about them selves. I have been learning that stresses that are placed on our bodies if not delt with, whether that means we talk about them, or acknowledge them, or try to deal with them. They will create an unrest in our bodies. The more we keeep shoving them deeper and deeper they will weaken our bodies and make them more susecptible to diseases and sickness.

I know I have shoved many feelings during my life time and now I am trying to get over it and deal or face what is going on in my head and also my life. It is a journey!!!

I feel thankful for my life _ I was driving down the street today up by sugar house and saw this man in a wheel chair, he did not have much control over any part of his body - his hand would randomly hit this lever and he would move forward then spin around, he had no control of his head as it was bobbing back and forth along with his mouth being twisted and contorted into different weird shapes. I was at the stop light and watched him struggling and couldn't help but say a prayer that he would be blessed. Then i thought maybe he is, apparently he was out in the sunshine trying to go somewhere and his disability was not stopping him. I was then amazed at his determination and strength. Then I thought how blessed we all should feel with the bodies that we have. We have 2 legs ,2 arms, a head , neck , strong feet to take us where we need to go, two hands that are strong they love, touch and help us and others in so many different ways. I then said another prayer of thanks that I am so blessed and need to appreciate more of what I am able to do.

That is all for today

MS 150 Logan UT June 2008

WOW...My first year to ever be on a bike team. Actually to have ever been road biking before. I found out about the MS150 and what a great cause it was. So many peoples lives have been effected by this disease. Each member of our team had to raise at least $250.00 some raised more than that. Then we were to ride 45 - 75 -100 miles in Logan Utah. We had 57 total that signed up and 45 that showed up to ride.

What a great feeling it was to be able to ride my first century (100miles) and add my donation to help find a cure for this devastating disease.

We had great team all the members really supported one another. Some of us camped out the night before the ride, it was fun getting to know everyone.

My husband Doug is my best friend and always supports me in everything that I do. He met me at one of the rest stops and rubbed my feet (only for a few minutes) then I was off to complete my last 30-40 miles.

The mountains, the trees, the sky, the lakes, the sounds, the smells, were beautiful and amazing. What a gift this world is to each one of us. This life is our journey, and we choose what and how we will live it. As I live each day it becomes more evident to take the time we need to make each and every day count. We never know when we will breathe our last breath or be able to have the physical ability to enjoy the wonders that surround us.

I hope we will all grasp and take a hold of every opportunity we can to help those around us. Especially our families. I want to thank each one in my family. When I told them of my decision to do this ride, without hesitation each one said, " I know you can do it".

Thanks to my family they are my strength and my support. I love them with all my heart.

July 4th Family Camping Trip

This is our July 2008 family camping trip to Mantua. Utah.

We were all able to make it for this trip except our son Kevin (who we missed so very much). Kevin we LOVE YOU!!

It was such a fun time with everyone. We made marshmallow guns out of PVC pipe and ran around the campsite trying to shoot each other... Dad was nicknamed the sharp shooter. He called one of his shots, by saying the marshmallow would bounce off the balloon, and hit Angelee. Sure enough that is exactly what happened. We will never know if it was just good luck or was he in fact that good of an aim?

I love watching the kids play and enjoy themselves. Parker is in swimming lessons and loves the water, Hannah loves playing (especially with Jaycee). Austin and spencer love to create and make things. Shaylee is a teenager and is growing up fast, it is so fun to see that family means so much to her, she just enjoys being with everyone.

This is some of us at the beach Melinda looks like she is picking her nose...she will kill me for putting this picture in, Angelee looks as though she is deciding whether or not she is really going to get in the water. Janae just watches and waits for the perfect time to get hot enough to jump in. Hannah is on her way to try out the water.
This is the Mackey Family...we all think Travis loves being a kid. He really knows how to enjoy his life.
I woke up on my birthday to find the campsite decorated with balloons - the picnic table decorated with a birthday table cloth- and a big cake set in the middle...yes I am 54 yrs. old and actually enjoying every minute.

We found a rope swing and did a bit of hiking while we were there. We were all watching Angelee as she was posing on the top of a tree on one leg. I think Mike just shakes his head in disbelief at all that we ask him to do. But we love having him and Janae come and join in with the Family. Janaes laugh will definitely keep anyone smiling...ahh the memories.

I will post more pictures to let you see them. I want to try and post a video of all of us doing a parade with our glow necklaces and bracelets it was soooooooo much FUN!
